The town of St Helens is a short drive to the north of Scamander and is the gateway to the Bay of Fires as well as Mt William national park in the very north eastern corner of the island


To the south of Scamander, a 30 minute drive brings you to the picturesque fishing village of Bicheno, gateway to the Douglas Apsley National Park


A further 30 minutes south of Bicheno is the famous Freycinet Peninsula National park with its towering granite peaks and white sand beaches
